Japanese Vending Machines Sell Everything, Including Ramen
While there are many vending machines in the United States, Japan is a country that is known for them. There’s a reason why they’re known for such a thing and it’s that vending machines in Japan sell practically anything. They have live rhinoceros beetles to heated hamburgers, balls of lettuce, and more. There is even a vending machine in Toyama City at the Aris Shopping Center that has frozen goods. It sells six types of frozen ramen that are created by a few select restaurants around Japan.
Ramen from a Vending Machine
The vending machine that sells ramen is called Local Ramen Selection, and it has chicken-flavored shoyu and shio ramen from JUNKSTORY in Osaka, which is a Michelin Guide-listed restaurant, as well as KaneKitchen Noodles in Tokyo.
There are other options for ramen including some from Fuji Noodles from a restaurant called Keishōken in Gunma and local black pepper tonkotsu ramen from Ebisuko Tonkotsu. This vending machine is only the second machine of its kind. The first one is located in Iwata City in front of the Katsuo Shōten restaurant.
Japan Craves Convenience with Vending Machines
America has had a love for vending machines for generations, and there are about 7 million of them in the country that sell snacks, sodas, and more. However, Japan is the vending machine capital of the world as it has one machine for every 30 people. They sell everything you can think of – from snacks to clothing, frozen food, like ramen, and fresh fruit, toys, scorpions, and more.
With a low crime rate in Japan and people craving convenience, Japan has been able to create an automated self-service business from these machines. It also shows the Japanese people are shy since vending machines are perfect for introverts as there is no actual communication that is involved.
